Ich war in Experimentierlaune

Verschiedenen Wollschichten habe ich zu einem Vorfilz verarbeitet und mit Knöpfen abgebunden, anschliessend weiter gefilzu und zum Schluss die entstandenen Blasen aufgeschniten, ein ein weiteres Mal gefilzt.
I made a prefelt of different layers of wool and ties a lot of different buttons in the fabric, felted and cut the upcomming blisters and felted again
So entstand eine tolle Struktur, sieht etwas aus wie ein Fell....
it came up a nice texture, looks a bit like a fur...

Wensleydale-Boa/Scarf
Eigentlich habe ich für jemanden Wolllocken aus meiner Sammlung raussuchen wollen.
Beim Durchsehen, habe ich dann festgestellt, dass ich eigentlich mal wieder etwas damit filzen könnte.
Gesagt und kurzerhand getan.
Diese Wensleydale-Locken habe ich vor längerer Zeit mit Cochenille gefärbt

durch den unterschiedlichen Gehalt an Lonolin ist die Färbung von helllila über dunkellila bis fast schwarz an den Spitzen geworden.
Für die Boa/Schal-Rückseite habe ich schwarze Merino sowie einige Saelsau-Wolllocken in schwarz genommen.

I dyed this Wensleydale locks some time ago with cochineal

by the different content of the lanolin the colour of the locks vary from light purple to dark purple until nerly black at the tips.
I made the Boa / Scarf-backside of black merino wool and added black wool curls of Saelsau.

Überraschung - surprise
Gestern bekam ich ein Überraschungspaket aus Berlin.
Barbara, eine liebe Filz-Kollegin, die ich beim Workshop auf Zypern kennen gelern hatte, hat mir eine grosse Freude gemacht. Auf der Messe Importshop in Berlin gibt es solche Dinge, wie diesen Horn-Armreifen und anderen Afrikanischen Schmuck zu erwerben. Leider war ich selbst noch nicht auf der Messe, plane es aber für die Zukunft unbedingt mal ein. Laut Barbare kann man dort herrlich stöbern :-). Vielen lieben Dank an Barbara!!!!

Yesterday I got a surprise parcel from Berlin.
Barbara, a dear felting "colleague" that I met at a workshop in Cyprus make me a big surprise. At the fair, "Import Shop" in Berlin there are such things, how to acquire these horn bangle and other African jewels. Unfortunately, I was not even at the fair, but I plan it for the future.
As Barbare told, it's nice to browse arround :-). Many many thanks to Barbara!!

meine erste gefilzte Jacke - my first felted jacket
Schon lange hatte ich die Idee eine Jacke zu filzen. Das Buch Felting Fashion von Lizzy Houghton
lag schon lange bereit.
Als erstes musste ein Schnittmuster her und an 2 Stellen im Englischen Text war ich mir unsicher, wie es gemeint war und so dauerte das allein 2 Tage.
Die Spannweite der Arme war nicht zu unterschätzen und so haben 2 meiner grossen Arbeitstische nicht ausgereicht.

First, I needed a pattern and at 2 passages in the English text, I was not really sure how it was meant and so it took me 2 days to make it.
The span of the arms where bigger then 2 of my large working tables.
but, look
Das Material ist Merino 16 mic und Mohairlocken am Kragen
Nun war ich mir nicht sicher, ob ich die Jacke färben sollte, erst ja, dann nein, dann wieder ja und zum Schluss war ich dann mutig und habe "es" getan.
Eichenblätter aus dem Wald, Perückenstrauch aus dem Garten und Eukalyptus aus meiner Sammlung ergaben dann das Resultat:

Now I was not sure if I should dye the jacket, yes..., then no, then yes again, and finally I was brave and made "it".
Oak leaves from the forest, Smoke Tree (Cotinus) from the garden and Eucalyptus from my collection

Da die Ergebnisse beim Färben immer ein bisschen Überraschung sind, war ich doch mehr als überrascht und letzendlich überglücklich, die Jacke gefärbt zu haben :-).

The results of the dyeing are always a bit of a surprise, I was more than surprised and ultimately overjoyed to have dyed the jacket :-).

treulose Blog-Tomate - faithless to my blog
Nun habe ich den Blog wirklich schon zu lange nicht mehr in die Hand genommen....
Vieles Neues in Filz und Farbe habe ich in der Zwischenzeit ausprobiert und so die Zeit am PC etwas vernachlässigt.
Doch das will ich nun ändern....
Meine Idee war es schon immer Fellteppiche zu filzen, natürlich würde ohne das Leder, was ja heisst, dass der Felllieferrant am Leben bleiben darf.
So habe ich aus vielen verschiedenen Wollvliesen bzw. Wolllocken dann Teppiche in grosser und kleiner Ausführung hergestellt.

tied a lot of new things in felting and dyeing in the meantime, and spend onle little time at the computer.
But I want to change it now ....
I had the idea for long time to make fur rugs without skin, which means the "fur supplier" (who ever give the wool...) have to stay alive
I made carpets/rugs of many different wool fleeces or wool lock ind many different shapes and sizes.
Anfangs wollte ich eigentlich nur einen Überwurf für den IK.. - Hocker filzen...
später folgten dann aber noch andere Farben dazu

The first part of the workshop have last 4 days
"Beyond the surfaces" fabric manipulation in nun felt dresses + Eco print, natural dyeing
the second part
"Wild fibers" fiber manipulation and fleeces in nuno felted assessories + Eco print, natural dyeing
It was a wonderful group with participants from Netherland, Germany, Spain, Israel, Iceland, USA, Italy/Sardinia, Norway, UK, Cyprus and me from Switzerland...
We created a beautiful dress, assessories and lots of samples in the part of felting as well as in the dyeing part.
It was an unforgettable time in a very beautiful surrounding at Aprodite Beach. The Aphrodite Beach Hotel was situated at the beautiful beach. We learnde a lot and I think everyone went home happy, with lots of inspiration and full of new ideas and creativity.
